Get immersed in self-discovery while exploring principles of Hatha & Vinyasa yoga, somatic movement, breathwork, meditation and other tools in discovering freedom to mind and body in our 200hrs Somatic Yoga Teacher Training in Mexico. The theme of this teacher training is Connection - connection between the body & mind, your inner student & teacher, you & the nature around.

The 200hrs course is designed so some of the theoretical subjects are completed online and at your own pace, so during the 15 days in Mexico we can truly get into more practical matters, like hands on -adjustments, asana alignment, teaching methodology and plenty of yoga, somatic movement and meditation practise.

Location:

For the location of the teacher training we have chosen Lunita Retreat Center, nestled amidst the lush, verdant beauty of the Mexican jungle. Here you can dive into the depths of yoga and meditation, unwind by the pool and enjoy the luxurious amenities including dedicated meditation area, relaxation space, captivating fire camp and beautiful restaurant area. 

 

Lunita Retreat Center is a destination where the elements of the body, mind and spirit finds peace and creates an unforgettable experience that will leave you renewed and refreshed. It is located at Puerto Morales, between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, and is easily reachable from Cancun airport.  


For who?
This yoga teacher training takes your practise deeper, and suits well those who are just starting their teaching journey, or who are already teaching yoga or other movement practises but want to go further in exploration and find new angles and authencity to their teaching style.


The focus of the course is to get really connected with your own body, to be able to connect with others. As you get deeper into your practise, you will learn to guide your students confidently in their individual paths, meeting them where they are at and give them space to explore, go within and challenge themselves in a way that feels safe and good.


We will explore many different aspects of yoga that go way beyond asana, with an inclusive approach to learning that revolves around exploring yogic themes and topics together in open dialogue and embodied, somatic practice. We are all students on this path together, all looking to access our innate wisdom and supporting each other on this journey.


This yoga teacher training will support you in removing any blockages that might be holding you back from accessing your full potential, stepping into your power and opening your heart. More than a teacher, we will support you on the journey of becoming a wholehearted facilitator that is able to hold space in a variety of holistic events.

You will learn:
Asana alignment, to give adjustments and alternatives, efficient use of props. Methods to create your own yoga sequences and classes that alignes with you and your style of teaching, creating an atmosphere in your classes connected to your purpose. Yogic philosophy for modern daily life, history of yoga for context. Functional anatomy for mindful movers, safe practising and injury prevention. Mantras, meditation techniques, chakra alignment and subtle body awareness. We will also discover somatic movement & nervous system regulation, embodiment and body integration practises and experience the essence of community.

What we are exploring online:
 

  • Different paths of yoga 

  • Subtle energy: Chakras, Koshas, Prana, Nadis, Gunas, Mudras, Doshas & Bandhas

  • History of Yoga: Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Tantra, Hatha Yoga & Yoga’s journey to the west

  • Yoga philosophy (Patanjali’s eight-limbed path): Yamas, Niyamas, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi

  • Introduction to anatomy

All the online materials are pre-recorded, so you can complete the steps and tasks on your own pace. This is 70 hrs of the 200 hrs training, so reserve enough time for completing the materials online before starting the training in Mexico. You will also continue to have access to the online course even after completing the full training.

Accomodation:
Accomodation in beautiful cabins at the retreat center.  Each cabin features a private bathroom, private garden,  queen size bed, closet, fridge and a fan. An extra single bed can also be installed to the cabin.

Meals

Lunita's chef wants to offer a new perspective on how gastronomy can be tasty, beautiful and healthy, taking care of the planet and the local communities as much as possible. In Lunita it's deeply believed that the nourishment is a huge part of the retreats, a fundamental link in the chain of individual and group transformation.

 

That's why the main ingredient in each dish is a lot of love and consciousness.

What is included:
- 3 meals a day during the course (breakfast, lunch & dinner) except Sundays which is a free day for everyone (so you can go freely to explore around!)
- Accomodation for 15 days (14 nights) in beautiful jungle cabins (each cabin is shared between 2 students)

Instructors

Aino López

Aino López is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga and meditation teacher trained with Mantra Yoga & Meditation in Nepal, has BA in Dance from Institute of the Arts Barcelona and is certified somatic movement instructor (Movingness).  She is passionate about movement as a medicine for the body and soul, and blends techniques from Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, contemporary dance, somatic movement, breathwork, meditation and embodiment practises.

 

Aino guides her students with joy and compassion, giving you tools to embody peacefulness, to move in awareness and let go of tension in mind and body. She believes that by exploring everyone can find their own natural way of enjoying movement, and feels called to help her students towards more joyful living with ease and lightness, using practises that helps to go deeply within yourself when experiencing your body and emotions, refining your movement patterns and learning how to express freely through the body.

 

The core essence of her classes is to stay connected with yourself, as it brings you naturally to a state of flow and enjoyment, which can then be brought to your everyday life.

Kunti

​

Kunti's passion and approach to the body and mind place her in a vital process for yoga from the unshakable discipline of the technique, to the versatility and investigation of the different currents of yoga, for which she is certified as a teacher in Kundalini, Hatha and Ashtanga yoga.

 

Her learning of Yoga comes from generations back, her parents and grandparents percursors of Hatha Yoga in Mexico and Venezuela. From a very young age Kunti was instructed in the integral Yogistics and Spiritual discipline as lifestyle. Within her specific development as a Yoga Teacher, she has been teaching classes for more than 20 years.


Kunti lived in India for two years working at MiriPiri Academy (school founded by Yogi Bahjan), where she also delved into the arts of Hindu Dance such as Bhangara and Raag Music. She was in Rishikesh, India studying the dynamism of Ashtanga Yoga with Master Yogi Khamal Singh. Her time dedicated to study and teaching lead her to experience Yoga as a perfect body science that transcends from the physical to the spiritual plane, crossing the psychological channel of the human psyche.
