Why to choose somatic approach

Somatics is a field of study and practice in bodywork, movement, and psychotherapy. In all somatic work you need to pay attention to and be guided by your internal experience. During this course we go fully into somatic movement practices, based on working with intuitive movement, understanding your nervous system, activating the vagus nerve and bringing awareness to the fascia in order to enhance your classes and teachings with these techniques.

In somatic approach to yoga or other movement practices we use mindfulness to bring awareness and understanding to where and how we store tension, trauma, and joy in our bodies, how we get in touch with our intuition and move towards empowerment. We learn about our physical, mental and emotional comfort zones and releasing old memories and patterns.

In comparison to a "standard" yoga class, somatic yoga is more intuitive and asks you to trust your body and where it takes you, instead of following only external and fast-paced instructions that can lead to disconnection and even injury.

In somatic approach to yoga and movement we look for balance between our internal and external experiences, working with comfortable range of motion with stability and ease.

In this course we work with interoception (how we sense our bodies from inside), the ability to slow down and activate the parasympathetic nervous system and how to stay curious to your experience, resulting in rather responding than reacting. This is approach in which all experiences are valid, and it allows you to be more fully present in the moment and trust yourself.
